One of the key attributes that we have grown to love about Rolex, is that they are subtle with their changes, this is a key core strength in designing a timeless wristwatch.  So for example, a Submariner from the 70s looks just as good as a current production Submariner.  So with the Sea-Dweller the most notable change was the larger 43mm case (replacing the discontinued SDK4K that was 40mm).  The other key change was the re-introduction of the red font on the dial, this is nice nod to the original 1967 sea-dweller.  This is the perfect watch for someone who’s has or had a Submariner or SD4K and wants something with a little more wrist presence.  Also, historically speaking, we know that anniversary releases make great investments over the long term, so this is definitely a classic in the making!

In 2003, the Rolex Submariner celebrated its 50th anniversary and that was reason enough for Rolex to do something completely different. And so, the idea of giving it a green bezel emerged. This Rolex Submariner 16610 received an “LV” indication, 16610LV, where LV stands for “lunette verte“.  Because of the green bezel, the Rolex Submariner 16610LV received the nickname Kermit.  In 2010, Rolex introduced the ceramic Sub. The Kermit was discontinued in 2010, but the green was here to stay.  The new reference 116610LV not only kept the green bezel, but it also added a green dial. In 2020 Rolex introduced an entire new Submariner collection, they made sure to include a new green Submariner as well. This is reference 126610LV.  The green ceramic bezel and black dial reminded some people of the Starbucks logo.   So here’s your chance to own one of the hottest pieces over last few years!
